AFL Agility Run

The AFL Agility Run is a specific slalom-type agility test designed for Australian Football players. This test involves running in and out of obstacles over a distance of approximately 40 meters. Equipment Required

To conduct the AFL Agility Run, you will need the following equipment:

Test Procedure

Before conducting the test, it is important to have the players warm up adequately. They should then have a practice trial at 50% effort to familiarize themselves with the course. Once ready, the players start from a stationary, upright position with one foot on the starting line, aligned with the first timing gate. They then weave in and out of the obstacles, aiming to avoid touching or moving them in any way. If an obstacle is touched or moved, the test is stopped and restarted. Two trials are allowed, with 2-3 minutes of recovery time between trials.

Scoring

The time to complete the test in seconds is recorded to two decimal places. The player’s best time out of the two trials is considered their score.
